Engineer I - Construction

CoRE is expanding its Construction Monitoring & Risk Assessment division, and seeking an enthusiastic, professional and motivated individual to join our team.  As a Construction Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include identifying construction risks, and keeping clients informed of the development status.  It is a fast-paced position, with the expectation of handling several projects simultaneously.  Your approach to each project is through the eyes of its stakeholders, evolving as each project progresses. From single-family luxury homes to large commercial developments, you'll be exposed to various networks and intricacies of the development realm.

Qualifications

CoRE is seeking a professional individual with the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or related field required
  • Certification as either an Engineer In Training, Professional Engineer or Registered Architect preferred
  • Previous experience in construction administration, construction management, architecture, engineering or similar
  • Experience performing Plan & Cost Reviews and related services
  • Knowledge and experience in assessing the various commercial & residential property types
  • Knowledge of the permitting process and construction agreements, and documentation
  • Familiarity with best practices of construction, building codes, and building types
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Advanced communications skills (written and spoken)
  • Willingness to travel when necessary
  • Physically fit to work outside, climb ladders, navigate through low-slope roofs, stairs, sites and under-construction interiors
  • A 'go-getter', self-motivated, resourceful and professional individual who can work independently on multiple projects under tight deadlines under the guidance of senior staff
  • Experience in performing Property Condition Assessments a plus

Engineer I - Due Diligence

CoRE is expanding its Due Diligence division, and seeking an enthusiastic, professional and motivated individual to join our team. As an Assessment Engineer, your responsibilities will include performing Property Condition Assessments of commercial properties, and monitoring new construction and/or renovation projects.  Experience performing these specialty services, and/or writing technical reports is a plus.

The Assessment Engineer will be evaluating and developing reports and opinions on the condition of the properties, the building systems, providing recommendations for repairs, and developing estimates for capital reserves. Candidate should have a background in engineering, architecture, building forensics or construction management.  College degree and/or certification in one or more of these disciplines, as well as experience is required.

  • Experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, or HUD standards for Property Condition Assessments a plus
